Below is a short video clip (Law and Ethics in Education) excerpting a lesson on how far schools can regulate students' out-of-school activities. In this clip, I outline the specifics of Latour v. Beaver School District. (This lesson was not originally scheduled for our syllabus, but was inspired by a student e-mailing me a news article on a recent event. I researched it and found some very interesting case law, including the case on this excerpt.) [4:08] | Here is an audio clip (that I created using Audacity recording software) explaining the idea of virtue ethics. By giving students audio to listen to at home, I find that I can "flip" the classroom so that students can listen to the "lecture" at home, and class time can be more effectively used for discussion, questions, and expansion activities.
